Apron Box Mini Album with Doodlebug Designs

Hi guys! I have a super cute project to share with you today. I have been loving Doodlebug's newest collection called Made With Love. So ... when I saw the adorable apron from the odds & ends, I (of course) thought mini album! After I started, the ideas just kept coming and suddenly the project grew. I'm so excited with how this turned out! I can't wait for you to see it ...

I made a cute apron shaped box, an accordion-style mini album to tuck inside and ... there's room for a few favorite recipes! I'm thrilled to give this little gift to a good friend who loves to bake.

So ... let me tell you how I made it. For the box, I used a Lori Whitlock cutting file called Cook's Apron Box (links below). I cut it out of white card stock and covered the sides with the adorable pistachio colored paper called Bake Me Happy. I added a plaid pocket and then, instead of using the utensils from the cut file, I used the adorable happy faced ones from the odds and ends to tuck inside! How stinkin' cute is that?!

Then I added a little trim to the top of the pocket from the patterned heart paper called Cinnamon Hearts and some heart shaped sprinkles to the front. I love how the colors look with the ribbon! 💗

Next, I used the Silhouette software to weld several apron shapes together. I cut 3 aprons from 12x12 card stock twice (adding a little tab to one of them) and then glued them together to create a 6-panel album.

Now, for my favorite part. Time to embellish the pages!! Yay! I always like to add a little simple scalloped circle to my mini's pages for the photos. It works really well in odd shaped albums and it looks ah-dorable. I used a 3" scallop circle punch and a 2.5" round circle punch.

I have to make another one of these mini's for me and Rylee. I can just see pictures of the two of us baking cookies on these pages! And how fun are those shaped sprinkles, shaped like sprinkles!!! LOL! They are perfect for a day of sugar cookies and decorating!

I think this would be an adorable gift for someone for Easter. You could tuck it in a basket or ... add a bit of Easter grass to the apron box and it will look so festive!

I added the Doodlebug recipe cards to the box as well. They tuck perfectly behind the album. If you give this as a gift, be sure to include a special holiday recipe or an old traditional family one that has been passed down.

This would also be a great Mother's Day gift, birthday gift for a friend or fill it with pictures of all your fun memories in the kitchen with family!

Hope you love this as much as I do. It was so much fun to make and simple to do. Give it a try! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Happy scrapping!
