Simple Stories Merry & Bright Snap Album

I realize everyone is thinking about fall, and pumpkins, and Halloween these days ... and I'm not usually one of those people that starts planning for Christmas far in advance.  But when I received the Merry & Bright collection I fell in love with the colors and was eager to start a new project!
I've been wanting a Christmas album, with just a few photos from each year, to set out for the holidays. Since I have older photos, the creams in this collection really worked well.  This is my son, 27 years ago!
I used papers from the 6x8 paper pad for this album.  I love the interest and fun that pages like this Santa add to the album.

I also used a combination of divided photo sleeves and full 6x8 pages.  The full page design allows me to play with lots of fun papers and embellishments.
On the page above I used stickers, bits & pieces die cuts, and chipboard.
The binder album that is part of the Merry & Bright collection is great too!  It comes with add in pages that include the pocket above.  I decided to use the pocket to store a few Christmas cards, but extra photos, holiday recipes, letters to Santa, and gift lists would all be perfect in this pocket!
The outside of the album is really pretty by itself, but I added a green ribbon, a few chipboard pieces, and some gems to give it a little shine.

I have a long way to go to get my album ready for the holidays but this collection is so much fun to play with I'm looking forward to documenting all of the other years!   Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Photo Crate with Doodlebug Pumpkin Party

Happy Fall everyone!  Can you believe we're just a week and a half away from Halloween?  I love this season and it's always a really fun time for craft projects.  I decided to combine memory keeping and Halloween decor for this post, by making a photo crate.

I decorated the outside of my crate with DoodlePops and glitter sprinkles, and filled the inside with file folders, photo cards, and envelopes. I will tuck photos into these pieces after Halloween and always have a cute decor piece to set out each year.
The file folders were cut with my silhouette machine (link below) and each folder is held closed with those precious jelly clips!
The paper is from Pumpkin Party and the new dots/stripes petite prints.
In addition to the file folders, I also used cards from the Pumpkin Party Card Assortment.  Since I'll be adding photos to these pieces, I decorated them like mini scrapbook pages. I should have called this project the "DoodlePop crate" ... I used so many (12 I think)!
Finally, I tucked in a few decorated envelopes.  I'll add photos to the outside, and include stories, journaling, and additional photos in these.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll visit me over at Artsy Albums!

Fall Memories

I can finally feel it! There's a tiny nip in the air this morning, and a slight color change on the leaves. Fall is officially here, but I was having trouble getting into the spirit of the season with 90 degree temps!

With pumpkins on my mind today, I wanted to share some pictures of our fall mini album kit (available in the Artsy Albums shop). We still have a few left if you want a fun and easy way to document your fall memories.

I used Simple Stories Forever Fall collection for this album.  I love the colors! Pops of pink and blue and combined with traditional fall colors of orange, brown, and cinnamon.  So pretty!

Even though the album is just 6"x6", it has lots of space for photos and journaling. There are pockets and folding elements throughout the book to make it interactive and provide extra space.
I think this keepsake would also be a wonderful gift for a hostess at Thanksgiving or a fall dinner. Who wouldn't want to save memories of family and friends in a special album that could be set out each year?

Happy Fall Ya'll :)
