Sparkle Card Mini Album with Doodlebug Designs

Hello my scrappy friends! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team project which you can also see over on their blog. It's a fun accordion style mini album that I made with the Cute and Crafty Collection, some 4x4 cards and that adorable shaker pops called Sequin Jar. I love those little sequins!

 

To start, I rummaged through my stash and found 4 Doodlebug tri-fold cards that came from various card and envelope packs. I chose the bubblegum, limeade, swimming pool & cupcake colors. So pretty!

 

To make the accordion album, I adhered panel 3 of the tri-fold card to panel 1 of the card after it until all 4 cards were connected. 

 

 

I used a mix of the 12x12 patterned papers, 6x6 paper pad and white cardstock to cover each side of the card, creating a cute page and mat on both the front and back sides. Then I added die cut pieces and sprinkles throughout.

 

 

I chose lots of die cuts from the Bits and Pieces, giving this album a more generic theme with the pretty flowers and colorful shapes.

 

It would be a sweet mini album for pictures of the littles, friends, family or maybe a fun event like a party, luncheon or small gathering.

 

And of course, this collection is always perfect for a day of scrapping with friends, a weekend crop or a retreat. And by the way, check out the cute little enamel flower sprinkles on this page. Love those!

 

I added a few cute flippies for fun. It just wouldn't be an Artsy Albums project without a flippie! I used a square from the back side of the Perfectly Plaid paper - which by the way, is so pretty! I love the colors and the little Polaroid card is adorable.

 

 

Just think what a great handmade gift this would be for a friend, teacher, grandparent, babysitter, co-worker, dog walker, or a hostess gift! It's a really good size - not too big and not too small. And the best part ... it's easy to create!

National Beach Day 12x12 Layout

Hey guys! Today is National Beach Day. And apart from celebrating our beautiful coastline, it also provides an opportunity to bring awareness to an important cause. This day was created to help keep our wonderful beaches clean of trash and debris for ourselves and for the animals and sea life that live there.

 

So ... with that in mind, I created a pretty 12x12 layout that would be perfect for your summer "beachy" memories.

 

I designed this page with the Simple Stories Vintage Coastal collection. It's the perfect collection for summer memories and beach photos!

 

 

I started with a 12x12 Guava/Sand paper and layered the backside of the 4x4 Elements paper on top. The tropical palm tree scene is a card from the 4x6 Elements. And that fun little embellishment with the red hibiscus is a chipboard sticker that comes with the brads (product links below).

 

The blue vertical strip of paper is the 12x12 print called Paradise Found and I used two coral colored brads at the top. The "beachy", starfish, pink plumeria flowers, and "paradise" are from the foam stickers from the collection.

For the 3 photo mats, I used the Ocean/Coral paper and white cardstock. I used a few more of the decorative brads in blue and green and added another chipboard sticker. The strip of red hibiscus paper is from the 12x12 print called Rest and Relax. 

 

I love the soft colors, the watercolor style of the papers and the tropical feeling of this layout. What a pretty addition to any album. Below is a link to my Living the Beach Life Album and the product links for today's layout.

School Days Mini Scrapbook Album

It's hard to believe it's back-to-school time. It's been quite a while since we've sent our kiddos off to school. With new haircuts and outfits, I know lots of parents are taking pictures. So ... it only makes sense that we have a colorful new school album to save them in!

If your kids are little, take advantage of this time and get all the photos you can. Take pics of their first day - breakfast, all dressed up, their awesome new backpack, catching the bus (or getting in the car), the school building, their classroom and teacher, fun pics with friends and then coming home.

Add pictures from the school year including their official school photo, locker, lunch time, plays, recitals, science fair, outdoor fun, awards, art projects, class parties, sports and the last day of school.

As they get older, you might have to up your game a bit. Be quick and limit the photos or those cute smiles will turn to annoyance quickly. If they let you in the classroom, you've hit the jackpot so, be stealth! Get in and get out with low expectations.😂

Ok, so now that you have your photos it's time to scrap. This 4x5 inch Graphic 45 album is super fun to put together. It was designed with the adorable Doodlebug School Days Collection. It has lots of fold-outs, flippies, cute tags with ribbons, 12 pockets, and little pull-out mats like the one in the photo above!

Some of the pockets have fun little die cuts in them. Use these to write important details on like ... dates, name of the school, your child's age, teacher's name, or how the child felt about their first day.
