Engagement Mini Scrapbook Album

Good morning Artsy Albums friends! After a weekend of moving our home and my studio to a temporary space, I think I finally have things organized enough to start creating again. At least until our new home is finished and we move all over again in a few months ... ugh!  Packing/unpacking -- so not fun.

But what IS fun is a series of new pre-made mini albums that I'll be adding to the shop soon. You'll have your photos saved in no time when you tuck them into these pre-made albums. And remember ... they make perfect gifts for showers, birthdays, and other special occasions!

The first mini is the perfect album for a newly engaged bride-to-be!

Visit the shop today to purchase our Engagement Mini, and stop by each day this week for more additions to our pre-made series!

A Memory Card Game with Doodlebug Designs

Hi everyone! I'm kicking off two weeks of fun "kid friendly" projects over on the Doodlebug Designs blog today. The design team has been working on projects to do with your children or grandchildren so ... I created a fun memory card game with my scrapbook supplies!

Do you remember playing the game "Concentration" as a kid? It was one of my favorite card games so, I decided to make a memory card set and a cute 3x4 card box to hold the cards. The box is a .svg cutting file designed by Lori Whitlock (link below).

To make the cards, I cut white card stock into 26, 3" x 4" rectangles and then I added the 2.75"x3.75" aqua dot (puppy love) paper to the front of the cards so that they all matched. But you could use any colorful paper for this!

Now for the good part! I covered the back of the cards with different papers from the Puppy Love, Kitten Smitten, and Fun in the Sun collections and then added stickers and die cuts. I made two of each design so that there are 13 matching pairs. Not only is this fun to make but you could use ANY paper collection for this project! Have your little ones help you with all of the stickers and then teach them how to play!

The game:
Lay all of the cards out on a table, face down in rows to create a large rectangle.

The first player turns over 2 cards to see if they match. If the two cards match, the player keeps the pair and takes another turn.

If the cards do not match, the cards are turned back over in the same spot. Everyone should try to remember the pictures on the cards, and where they are located.

Now it's the next player's turn and he or she turns over two cards to see if they match.

Play continues like this until all pairs have been picked up. The winner is the person with the most matching pairs.

Have fun designing your own cards. With all of the wonderful Doodlebug stickers and die cuts ... the possibilities for this project are endless!!

Lori Whitlock Sizzix Dies

Hey friends, I'm happy to be back over on Lori Whitlock's blog today to share a project using Lori's Sizzix dies.  For this one, I used her new Essential Mini Album Thinlits dies. This set comes with 15 dies!  I also used her new Mix & Match flowers set and Perfect Labels set.

For the cover, "The Story" title is included in the mini album set. I added it to a label that I cut from the Perfect Labels Thinlits set and then layered all of those pretty flowers with a cute brad.

I love how Lori provided the base album page in this set, along with a layered piece for pattern paper. The film strip frames are also included in the set ... so cute!! All of the pieces were cut from paper designed by Lori for Echo Park called Pinstripes.

I hope this mini has inspired you to go check out these sets, and all of the other fun dies and stamps that Lori has designed for Sizzix!

Happy crafting and as always, thanks so much for stopping by. To get great scrapbooking ideas & to stay up-to-date on new products & sales please "like" Artsy Albums on Facebook, Instagram & Pinterest!

Puppy Dog Love Scrapbook Layout with Doodlebug

Hi scrapbook friends!  I'm happy to be sharing my layout over on the Doodlebug Designs blog today!  The design team is having fun with a color challenge this week and we were also asked to choose a past project that inspired us.

I picked Blue Jean for my color, and chose one of Melinda Spinks beautiful layouts as my inspiration piece. This is my sweet girl Maisy, when she was just 12 weeks old.

And here is Melinda's layout. I love how she always uses embellishments in unique ways on her layouts!

For my layout, I used the new Puppy Love collection and lots of adorable shape and dot sprinkles.

For my title, I used trio rubons. They worked perfectly for following around my heart shape.

Hope this inspires you too! Hop over to Doodlebug this week and check out all of the fun projects the design team has been creating! Happy scrapping!
