Basketball Scrapbook Album with Doodlebug

Hello everyone! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project. It's a basketball themed mini album using the wonderful Slam Dunk Collection!

When my boys were young, they both played basketball. But as they grew up, they didn't quite grow UP enough (lol!) so basketball didn't become their thing. Still, we always had a hoop in our driveway and they enjoyed playing with the neighborhood kids. This little album will be perfect for saving those fun memories.

I designed it with one of Doodlebug's Plain and Simple Chipboard Albums and loaded up the cover with paper from the 6x6 paper pad. The large circle was cut from the 12x12 Game Stripe sheet.

The album measures approx. 4x7 inches and comes with reinforced holes and 3 binder rings. Inside there are 20 pages covered in sporty pattern papers and lots of die cuts, stickers, and enamel sprinkles.

This makes a perfect keepsake for basketball photos, team pictures, Final Four or NBA parties, an afternoon of shooting hoops with friends, or new baby photos.

The chipboard tabs that come on the edge of the pages are cute and practical. I covered them with different colorful prints for a little more interest.

I love the smaller sized pattern papers in the 6x6 pad. The cut-apart cards are perfect for mini albums. In the picture above, the "Love the Game" card is 2x3 inches and looks great on this layout.

However, don't discount using the larger 4x6 cards for mini albums! Above, I used one on the left side page and just trimmed two of the sides down a bit.

Doesn't the die-cut basketball look cute flying off the top of the page?! On the right side, I added a card that flips up (aka the flippie) to save photos in. I added a few number stickers to the jersey. Mine represent the year, but you could add your player's number!

My albums are never quite complete without some enamel dots and sprinkles. Doodlebug has so many fun enamel shapes ... the stars were great for this project.

I hope you've enjoyed my Basketball Mini Album today. If you have some great action shots or team photos that need a home, this project would make an ideal keepsake for them ... or a great gift idea!

Christmas Gift Tags with Lori Whitlock

Hi everyone! I'm hopping along with Lori Whitlock's Creative Team for our December blog hop and for my project, I created some cute Christmas gift tags. They are really fun to make and super easy! Take a look ...

To make your own Christmas gift tags:

1.  Duplicate Lori's tag file several times on an 8.5x11" mat in your Silhouette software.

2.  Go to Lori's shop and download Christmas shapes and phrases ... both work great!

3.  Resize the phrases and shapes so that they fit into the tag shape, and add fill color if needed.

4.  Select the Christmas shape or phrase and hit "no cut" in the cut settings. Be sure that the tag shape is still set to cut.

5.  Once you have colors filled, shapes sized, and cut settings chosen, PRINT the tags on to white cardstock. Be sure registration marks on turned on!

6.  Once printed, use your Silhouette to cut the tags out. You can also create an OFFSET background to mat the tag on colored card stock.

7.  Finally, add ribbon, Doodlebug's chunky twine, gems, or other details to really make your tags the highlight of your Christmas packaging.

I know that was a quick tutorial, so let me know if you have any questions by leaving a comment.  Now, back to Lori's blog hop ....

Christmas Sugarplums House Shaped Mini Album

Good morning and happy December! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent the day with family and friends and ate way too much food. It was perfect. 😉

Today, I'm excited to share my adorable new Christmas House Shaped Album. It's been on my mind since I created the Halloween version a few months back. Thanks to Doodlebug Design's adorable Sugarplum collection, it turned out pretty cute!

To purchase the instructions to make this album visit:

I used the same album pattern that I created for the Halloween one but I used white chipboard instead of black. At its largest points, the album measures approx. 8x10 inches.

Inside, there are 12 chipboard pages (front and back) that include some 6x8 inch pages and other various custom shaped ones. This album is filled with lots of cute photo mats, journaling spaces, fun interactive flippies, and space for 18 photo.

I've also added an envelope for saving a letter to Santa, some favorite recipes, your gift lists, or any special family memorabilia.

Hop over to my shop to see these fun pages and the newest kits, premades, and supplies!

Update: This kit has sold out but the instructions are available in my shop. They are simple, step-by-step, and include measurements and full color photos of each page. Links for the instructions and the products used are below. Happy scrappin'!
