Sweet Things Valentine Scrapbook Album

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm back over on the Doodlebug Blog today to share my "Sweet Things"  project.  If I had to pick my favorite all-time color combo, it would probably be red, turquoise, black, and white. So, when I saw this adorable new collection ... I couldn't wait to play with it!!

I was excited to see that a Simple Stories turquoise Sn@p album matched the collection perfectly. For the cover, I created a title card from a piece in the 6x6 paper pad. I also used a bright red flower from the Valentine flowers Craft kit, along with a white boutique button and some beetle black twine.

Here are a few of the inside pages of my album:

The sentiment phrase strips are a fun new addition to this collection. They are on a 12x12 sheet of cards, and you can cut them apart individually, or use them together like I did on the page above.

Fancy Frills border stickers  are also a favorite of mine.  Since they are 12" long, I was able to cut the zig zag in half to line the top and bottom of my 4x6 card .... cute!!  And here's another tip for Fancy Frills ... buy two!  That way you can put a border across a full two-page 12x12 layout!

For the page above, I added a ladybug red envelope from one of my Create-a-Card sets.  Since it's Doodlebug, the red matches perfectly and gives me a fun spot to tuck in journaling or extra pictures!

Thanks so much for checking out the blog today, and thank you to everyone who purchased last week's Winter Mini Album kit using the Polar Pals collection.  If you are also interested in seeing this album as a DIY kit, please leave me comment here, or on the Doodlebug blog post.  If enough people are interested, I'll make it a kit :)

Happy crafting!

Winter Polar Pals Scrapbook Album with Doodlebug

Happy New Year friends! I'm so excited to be back with Doodlebug for another year. My first project for 2016 is a mini using the super cute and colorful Polar Pals Collection. It's winter theme is just adorable! I used a 4x6 binder from Simple Stories, papers from Polar Pals, and the new Petite Print Swiss dots!

For the cover, I used a Silhouette cut file for the snow globe (see link below), some papers from the 6x6 paper pad, and lots of chunky twine. How cute are those little critter stickers?!

My inside pages are a combination of white card stock and the page protectors that come in the album. I love to mix-and-match page sizes, pockets and divided photo sleeves to make my mini albums more interesting.

Oh my goodness, that baby walrus is the cutest!!

I love that Doodlebug includes sheets of 2x2 and 4x4 cards in their collections. They're the perfect size for mini albums!

January Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock

Hi everyone!  Today I'm hopping along with Lori Whitlock's Creative Team for our January blog hop!

For my project, I created some of Lori's adorable mini tea light houses for a winter apothecary jar scene.  These are really fun to make and super easy!

For the houses, I used Doodlebug glitter card stock to cut out three different houses.  They each cut out in two pieces, the house and the roof, and they fold up easily.  I used a strong liquid adhesive to hold them together.

Once my houses were complete, I created a cute little winter scene with battery-powered LED tea-lights, salt (for the snow) and a few small trees I had from other village decor.

I plan to leave my winter jar out all season, and then I may cut the houses out in various colors for other seasons throughout the year!

Now, back to Lori's blog hop .... don't miss these awesome goodies too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you!

As we begin a new year in 2016, I want to thank you all for supporting Artsy Albums in 2015.   I started this business in late 2011 and, in the past 4 years, many things in the scrapbooking industry have changed ... products, trends, companies, and the way people save their memories ...

But one thing that hasn't changed is my commitment to create scrapbooks and kits that encourage people to share their stories, preserve their photos, and document their everyday lives.  There are other mini album kit companies, and other designers that create custom albums, and I am very thankful that you choose Artsy Albums!

Thank you for following me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and of course, in my Etsy shop.  Here is a look at a few of my favorite projects from 2015 .... I have lots of wonderful new albums and kits planned for 2016 so stay tuned!!
