Birthday Wishes Scrapbook Album Instructions

Hey guys, it's Throwback Thursday and in keeping with yesterday's birthday post I thought you might like to have some birthday album options. So ... I'm adding 2 new sets of instructions to my shop for different retired birthday albums!

Did you know that birthdays are one of the most scrapped occasions? I guess it's because ... well, everyone has one and they're so much fun! These two cuties are titled "Birthday Wishes" and I have a pink and a blue version! Take a look ...

Ok, how cute is that cover? Colorful, fun and perfect for anyone's special day ...  whether you're 5 or 75 years old! I'm loving those little enamel dots. They looks like little candies or sprinkles. Ohhhhhhh! Like those classic candy dots that come lined up on a strip of paper that you peel off!! Lol, who knows what I'm talking about? 🙋

I designed this with the Echo Park, Birthday Wishes Girl collection. It's an older collection but I love it so much that I had to share these albums with you. Maybe you have this collection but if you don't, I managed to source some of the products and linked to them down below (and in the listing in my shop)!

But I think you should never let the collection stop you from purchasing any of my instructions. There are so, so many great papers and embellishments out there now-a-days. You can substitute any of these products with birthday themed supplies, polka dot papers, stripes and colorful solids.

Use your imagination and play with different collections! That's the fun of scrapping and crafting. It doesn't have to be exactly like mine. Instead, it can be inspired by mine. If you can't find that Birthday Celebration sticker ... find a sticker of a cute birthday cake, colorful balloons or print your own little saying on the computer and mat it with colorful paper!

If you're not really creative, that's ok! My instructions are easy and show you how to create this album. But if you don't have a teal colored ribbon ... use pink or yellow! If you don't have cupcake paper, use a paper with balloons or stars. It's all about having fun and making it yours!

Next up is the blue version ...

This one uses the Echo Park, Birthday Wishes Boy Collection and the color palette is super cute. It has blues, red and greens and a cheerful yellow chevron ribbon that "ties" it altogether! Lol

The scalloped cupcake sticker on the cover and the Happy Birthday sticker below is from the element sticker sheet which Echo Park still has for sale on their website (see link below). But if you have a silhouette machine or scalloped scissors, you can make that shaped edge on anything. It's easy and adds a lot of visual interest.

There's a bunch of fun interactive elements in this album including flip-ups and fold-outs which ... are great for a little extra storage for photos or journaling.

My instructions show you how to create all these fun elements that make a scrapbook more than just flat simple pages. Flip-ups, fold-outs and pockets with tags will highlight all your memories and make your albums fun to flip through.

And speaking of which ... who doesn't love a pocket? Whether it's in your jeans, your purse, your prom dress (am I right?) or ... your scrapbook! They're always handy to store a little something in. The one pictured below is perfect for extra notes, cards, pictures or memorabilia.

I love using a 6"x8" binder. It's a great size. Simple Stories makes them with linen spines in so many pretty colors and you can decorate the cover however you like! I always recommend adding some divided plastic photo sleeves to your albums for more photo storage. (Links below.) I think you can never have enough space for all your wonderful pictures!

I hope you feel inspired to scrap the next fun birthday celebration you or your loved one has. Be creative, have fun and know that scrapbooking is all about mixing and matching colorful papers and stickers and ribbons! There's no wrong way. It's really just ... your way! Happy scrappin'! 😊
