Hello friends! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project. Recently I traveled to Southport NC to visit my family and after that fun weekend, I knew exactly what my next project would be. I grew up spending summers celebrating the fourth of July in this wonderfully small, southern town so ... I was inspired to create an all American mini!
For over 220 years, July 4th has been a big part of Southport's history. Their celebrations were first recorded in 1795! They always have a really fun parade, an arts and crafts festival, food trucks, live music, an antique car show and an amazing fireworks display over the Cape Fear River. With the city's population being under 4,000 ... everyone knows everyone and it's such an event. I loved spending time in the summer there as a kid and celebrating the 4th with my cousins. 💗
Once I got home, I couldn't wait to start this mini with Doodlebug's, Land That I Love Collection. It's been a hot minute since I made an acrylic album so, I used 6"x6" clear covers for the front and back and all the red, white, and blue cuteness on the inside. I added a 3x4 July 4th card (cut down to 3x3) on the cover, along with some cute mini icon fireworks and stars stickers.
This fold-out page is my favorite. The fireworks card flips open to reveal space for photos or journaling. Then the blue polka dot page folds out to reveal even more space! See the page below.
This is what it looks like completely opened up. So cute, right? Perfect for photos of a fireworks display in the park, a smaller version of your own in the neighborhood or celebrating with sparklers! I love all the fun prints. Super colorful!!
I used the petite print Buffalo Check in Ladybug on this page. It reminds me of a picnic blanket or tablecloth used for lunch in the park. This is a great space for photos of a BBQ, bike riding and playing outdoor games.
To create this fun tri-fold element, I cut out a row of three 3x4 cards from the 12x12 Summer Streamers paper and scored a line between each card. Then I folded the cards up for a cute interactive element in my album. I love this!!
We can't forget the pocket. No Artsy Album would be complete without one! Inside I've added a journaling card from the 12x12 sheet called Summer Celebration which you can purchase HERE.
Most of the prints in this mini came from the 6x6 paper pad except for the card sheet (Summer Streamers), the journaling cards (Summer Celebration) and the petite prints. Product links below.
A hot air balloon ride would be an amazing activity on the holiday weekend. It's something different and a great way to celebrate the morning or afternoon with family and friends.
This patriotic mini is SO CUTE and perfect for documenting the fun activities from the day. I hope it encourages you to create your own!
