Washi Tape Greeting Cards

Hey guys! So last week I was looking for something in my crazy but ah-mazing stash of scrapbook supplies and ran across a bunch of washi tape. What the?? How long have these been here? Don't know, but ... Yay! It's been a really long time since I made a project with washi tape so, let the fun begin!!

First, if you're new to washi tape, let me give you the low-down ... it's like masking tape but wayyyy better. It comes in so many beautiful designs and colors. It's flexible, lightweight, and archival so it can safely be used to decorate and embellish lots of fun crafts. It also peels off without damage and it doesn't leave a layer of sticky yuck behind. Perfect.

With tape in hand, I decided to make some greeting cards using simple white cardstock, washi tape, and a few cute embellishments. I started with that super cute bee washi tape to make a belated birthday card. I mixed in some dots and stripes, then added some adorable icon stickers from Doodlebug's Simple Spring Collection. The Bee-lated Birthday words are a Doodlebug Doodle Stamp called Oh Boy!. I think it turned out bee-utiful!

This next card is perfect for Valentine's Day ... or any time you want to tell someone you love them. It's appropriate for almost anyone including your spouse, your kids, a close friend, mom or dad or even your grandparents!

I used washi tape in a diagonal pattern and cut hearts from red cardstock using a heart punch. The "you are so loved" words are from Doodlebug's, All Occasion Love You Doodle Stamp and the sweet Mini Doodle-Pop is from the Lovebugs collection and is called Be Mine.

The last card I made is perfect for congratulating someone on their new home, to send out a change of address, to announce a housewarming party, or just to say hello and let someone know you're thinking of them.

I went bold and added some gold scalloped washi tape, navy stickers from Doodlebug's Fancy Frills (Patriotic Picnic) and a Doodle-pop from the Hello Collection called Cute Cottage. Look how detailed the wreath and flower boxes are on that Doodle-pop! It really IS a cute cottage!

The envelopes are from a mix of Doodlebug's Cards and Envelope collections.

I hope these cards give you a little inspiration. You can use ANY washi tape, embellishments and paper to create a card that suits your needs whether it's a birthday, Valentine's Day, or Get Well Soon card. But, if you're looking for the products I used, click on the links below!
