12x12 Cottage Fields Scrapbook Layouts Tutorial

Hello friends! Today, I'm sharing two "beautiful" 12x12 scrapbook layouts and a quick tutorial with measurements. These pages are girly and feminine with pretty butterflies and flowers. I can imagine special pictures saved on them, like ... a family photo shoot, friends, sisters, a bridal shower, a birthday luncheon, all dressed for church or a wedding, your garden, or meaningful everyday moments.

I used the Simple Stories, Vintage Cottage Fields Collection (product links below) and oh my goodness ... that butterfly paper is so lovely! It's like a watercolor painting and the flower stickers look like photos.  

Here's how I created them ... for the Beautiful page, I layered the papers in this order:

• I used white 12x12 Bazzill cardstock for the base. 
• I cut the Aqua paper to 8 x 11.5 and added it to the left side. 
• Then cut the Dark Pink paper to 3.5 x 11.5 and used that on the right side. 
• I added the 7 3/4 x 8 pale pink paper with newsprint (called Dream More). 
• Then cut a rectangular 4 x 3 piece in the Aqua Dot for the lower left corner.
• Next came the 6.25 x 4.25 Yellow Mat and the 2 smaller aqua ones at 3x3.
  
• And last, but not least ... the aqua strip across the top was 3/4" x 6". 

Now, the fun part ... all the pretty embellishments!! The "beautiful", butterfly, and metal looking tag at the bottom are chipboard stickers. The frames are chipboard too and are designed with flowers, butterflies, birdhouses, etc. These are great for your favorite photos, quotes, poems, Bible verses, or journaling notes.

Check out the close-up of the flowers - so realistic. I also added some colorful brads across the page and I love the shine and texture they add.  

Next up is the "Sweet" page ...

I added the papers in this order:

• I used white 12x12 Bazzill cardstock for the base. 
• The aqua solid is 11.5 x 11.5 and I centered it. 
• I added a 4x4 floral journaling card and tucked it in upper left corner.
• I layered the gorgeous 6x8 butterfly print which is from the 6x8 paper pad. 
• Next came the 4 x4 Yellow mat, then the 4.5 x 6.5 Dark Pink mat. 
• And finally, the Aqua Dot strip is 3/4” x 6”.

In the lower right corner, I added another frame that had flowers and a butterfly. I just added the "sweet" and aqua butterfly chipboard stickers on top. Easy peasy!

I designed this with a beautiful 6x8 Simple Stories robin's egg blue binder and tons of Doodlebug cuteness. The cover has a sweet home scene with cheerful colors and title, some twine, and an acrylic tag.

Here's a close up so you can see the amazing gold accents. They're on the die cuts, paper, and the shape sprinkles! The photos don't show how pretty they really are. When the light hits them, they shine!

Check out the acrylic tag and enamel shape sprinkle I added to the front with some pretty twine. The Doodle twine is a brand new coral color. I love it!

This album is packed with goodies ... it has 20 pages that include 3 pocket pages, 4 flippies, 2 fold-out pages, a waterfall feature, AND a gate-fold page!

This cute waterfall element allows for lots of photos to be saved on one page. It also shows off a bunch of great prints. Aren't those tiny hearts adorable?! 

This mini would be a wonderful place to save pictures of almost anything. You could add photos of fun moments at home, baking in the kitchen, neighborhood get-togethers, a vacation, coffee with friends, your garden, celebrating birthdays, spring break, family gatherings, new baby photos, or a fun day at the park!

You could also save memorabilia in the pockets like tickets, invitations, recipes, brochures, greeting cards, notes, awards or certificates, postcards, labels, or business cards.

Here's the fun new gate-fold page I made! It's has a pistachio colored butterfly paper, die cut butterflies with gold accents, and a cute card that you can use to open it with. You'll have to wait and see what's inside. 😉

Shadow Box Bee Card Tutorial

Hi sweet friends! Today, I'm sharing a TUTORIAL on how to make this adorable little layered shadow box card. Isn't it so pretty?! I made it for Lori Whitlock's blog using one of her amazing cutting files called Shadow Box Bee Card (links below). I can think of so many occasions this card would be great for. I chose a few papers from Lori's Bee Happy Collection that she designed for Echo Park. I used the honeycomb print called Life is Sweet, the solid green for the veining in the leaves, and the yellow for the bee. The red flowers were made with a 6x6 print from from Doodlebug's I Heart Travel Collection. I picked Bazzill's Jet Stream for the wings and Whirlpool for the tiny flowers, and Bella Blvd's Hearts & Ombre in guacamole for the leaves. I love the fresh colors against the white! Here's a quick tutorial on how I put the card together ... 

Cut out all of the white pieces first so that you can see how the colored pieces are going to be adhered.

Add your colored patterned paper to the white cardstock pieces before gluing the 2 card bases together. 

Then adhere one of the base tabs to the back of the other base as shown above. The other tab (on the right side in the photo above) will be what you use later to secure the front with.

Adhere all of the fun colored pieces to the 3 inside white scenes.  

Then add the scenes inside the shadow box base. Start with the blue flowers first, inserting the tabs into the slots on the sides.

Repeat this for the bee scene, then continue with the last one that has the red flowers.

Once they are securely in place, you can close the front of the card and adhere it to the tab on the left.

And voila!! You've got an un-bee-lievably cute card to send to someone special. When it's open, it can stand alone on a shelf, desk, or a counter for display.

When it's time to be sent through the mail or stored, it can be folded flat. 

Wouldn't this pretty card be wonderful for a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or Mother's Day? Or you could use it to send words of encouragement, well wishes or a "thinking of you" message. Don't forget to add a funny "bee" pun! Here are some ideas ...

Happy Camper Scrapbook Album

It's Funday Friday and you know what that means!! NEW album in the shop! This one is perfect for summer and fall when the weather is beautiful and everyone wants to be outside. It's titled Happy Camper and it's filled with beautiful colors, flowers, and butterflies. It has a more feminine vibe and it's awesome for photos of exploring nature, camping, and outdoor adventures.

I can't wait for you to see the inside! It's packed with embellishments and tons of really fun elements. This one may have the most flippies ever!  I used the gorgeous Simple Stories Trail Mix Collection and a limited edition lime colored 6x8 Simple Stories binder.

Check out the pretty flowers and colors. Not what you were expecting for a camping album? I know! It's not the usual rustic theme ... more like the glamping version, lol! I love it.

I added lots of goodies to this page. The small square flippie with a green camera and enamel dot will hold 2 small photos. The pink fold-out card has space for journaling on the front and a cute plaid photo mat inside. AND underneath ...

... the entire "camp" section folds open for even more photos and journaling space! How fun is all that?!

Here's another pretty page. I love the mint green color mixed with the lime, pink and yellow. I can just see photos of wildflowers, hiking through nature, butterflies, amazing views, wildlife, and fun with family and friends on these pages.

It's perfect for lots of different nature adventures from a luxury resort in the mountains to camping in an RV. What about a vacation to a National park, a cabin on the lake, or a unique treehouse in the forest. How fun!

It's great for pictures of river rafting, hiking, waterfalls, campfires, s'mores, biking through nature, boating, fishing, swimming, or kayaking. If you're really adventurous ... maybe you try a zipline, a rope course, or bungee jumping! Whatever your adventure looks like ... save your photos here. 

This page is really cute. I love all the campy sayings. But, it's more! The bottom half actually lifts up for additional photo storage. It's an extra large flippie! The corner fold, button, and twine add a great little detail.  

If you have kids or grandkids that have been to day camp or sleep-away camp this summer, you need this mini.  It makes an amazing keepsake filled with their memories of friends, arts & crafts, plays, their cabin, and outdoor activities like swimming, canoeing, archery, horseback riding, bonfires, smores, and sailing.

This album has 20 pages that include 3 fold-out pages, 2 pockets, 12 flippies (yep ... no typo there - twelve!), and space for over 60 amazing photos. Whoa, this 6x8 mini doesn't feel so small anymore. Maybe I need to call it a maxi. 😂
