12x12 Summer Bar-B-Cute Layout

Hello friends! Recently, I planned a summer trip with my family to Florida and all I can think about is enjoying the beach, grilling, and lounging by the pool. Relaxing and eating ... I love those two things! So, today I'm sharing a cute 12x12 layout that would be great for backyard fun, beach picnics, and summer memories.🌞

I started with a 12x12 Doodlebug Petite Prints dot and stripe in ladybug as the base and layered a sheet of white card stock on top. Then, I used a cute polka dot washi tape from the Doodlebug, Puppy Love collection to make a grid with 9 equal squares. So easy! (Product links below.)

Next, I just decorated each square with cute papers and embellishments from the Doodlebug Bar-B-Cute collection. I started in the center by adding that little smiling hamburger Doodle-pops called Well Done. His cute soda friend is another Doodle-pops called ... what else, Soda Friends!

For the other squares I mixed some 12x12 and 6x6 prints. The stripe is from the 6x6 and I think the smaller design suits this page perfectly. I used die cuts from the Chit Chat and the Odds & Ends and the "Fire Up The Grill" sticker is from the This & That.

I used a 2.5" scallop punch by Marvy Uchida to cut out the circle shape in blue gingham and used it behind the "Sweet Summer" die cut. 🍓

This 12x12 page would perfect for eating watermelon in the sunshine, grilling burgers with friends, backyard fun, a picnic at the beach, a neighborhood BBQ, or enjoying time with family.

The Sky is the Limit Scrapbook Album

Happy Friday!! Today's the day and I'm SO excited to finally share this particular new album with you. I've been waiting quite a while for this adorable new Bella Blvd, To the Moon collection to arrive and when it did ... I was over the moon! (Lol) It's been a long time since I did a space themed album and I had so much fun with it. It's called "The Sky is the Limit" and I hope you love it as much as I do.

To purchase the instructions to make this album visit:

The Sky Is The Limit Scrapbook Instructions

Let's discuss the cover first. Loving the color scheme, the planets are so much fun, the Outer Space paper is adorable with the little rockets and comets but ... the little girl with her blond pigtails sticking outside her helmet ... hilarious! 😂 I just love it!

I'm also loving the title "The Sky is the Limit". It's so positive and encouraging. This album would be perfect for a boy or a girl ... or both! It's great for anyone who loves the outer space theme with astronauts, suns, moons, spaceships, shooting stars and so many other colorful space related objects.

I used a 6"x8" Simple Stories binder and filled it with lots of goodies! Oh how I've missed Bella Blvd. This wonderful company hasn't made a new collection since Halloween so I'm thrilled they're back!

This page is awesome with the 🚀 rockets, the polka dots and the spaceship with the teeny tiny one-eyed passenger!

The page above is super cool. It's actually a 4x6 card that folds open with more space for photos inside. I adore that background paper with all the horizontal rows of color. I think it's perfect with the bright yellow print and the Outer Space paper.

As always, I've included pockets for more photos or memorabilia. Wouldn't this be a great album for a trip to a space or aviation museum, any NASA location or Kennedy Space Center?!

The United States has a long history with flight and space travel. After all, the first airplane was flown here AND ... the first man to walk on the moon was an American. So, it makes sense that we would have many museums dedicated to the history and science of flight. It's time to get back out there and enjoy some of these interesting places. Just remember to take pics, document your day and save your brochures, tickets and postcards right here.

This would also be a great album for a space themed birthday party or a person who loves science, rockets and the solar system. What about an awesome "out of this world" room or nursery? It would also be perfect for Halloween costumes of aliens, astronauts or space rangers like Disney's Buzz Lightyear.

The cute fold-out card above has an orange scalloped edge and room inside for more photos. Then, the 3 small squares on top are flip-up cards!! (aka flippies, lol) Perfect for your favorite little photos. So many fun interactive elements included in this scrapbook.

This 6x8 album includes 28 pages (14 double sided) so it's a big one!! It has 10 folding elements, 2 pockets and you can fit at least 60 photos in this album! Whohooo!

I can't wait for you to explore my new mini! So blast over to my shop and see "The Sky is the Limit" today!

Update: The album kit has sold out but I've added the links for the Instructions and the products used below. My instructions are simple, step-by-step and include measurements and full color photos of each page. Happy scrappin'!

Strawberry Shaped Scrapbook Tutorial & Video

Hellooo scrappers and Happy National Pick Strawberries Day!! I love the sweet taste of fresh strawberries and they always make me think of sunny days. So ... when I realized there's a day that celebrates picking them, I was all in for a cute strawberry shaped mini. 🍓 Perfect for photos of family or friends!

I used a Lori Whitlock strawberry cutting file (link below) and a collection from Echo Park called A Slice of Summer Collection (also designed by Lori Whitlock). I chose mostly 12x12 papers for the pages and tons of fun, summery die cuts and stickers.

Below, I've added a VIDEO tutorial on how to make this sweet mini so be sure to check that out along with the product links.

For the circular photo mats, I used a 4" circle punch first. It's an older one that I found at Hobby Lobby. Then I used my 3.5" circle punch, which they still make so I added the link below.

I only glue down the lower half of the die cuts that overlap the circular mats. This way you can easily tuck your photos in just behind the fun shapes and sayings.

The best time to pick strawberries is from April to June. Tons of people pick their own from local farms during strawberry season. I love that! Not only is it a fun activity but it also allows for quality time to be spent with nature, family and friends. So ... find a local farm, grab the littles, your sister, your mom or your bestie and spend a beautiful morning in the sunshine picking strawberries. 🌞

If you love to garden, you could also plant your own strawberries. It's a great activity to do with the littles. Teach them how to care for them, watch them grow, then eat them. Take pictures along the way and save them in a special album like this one!

If you love strawberries but you're not into nature, spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes with strawberries. Make a strawberry shortcake, a fruit smoothie or your own jam. What about a strawberry crisp, a pie or a fruit salad? Or you can keep it simple and just pile them on top of pancakes, waffles, french toast or ice cream. Yum! Sounds like a fun afternoon with someone special and totally worthy of photos!

Below, is the video tutorial showing you exactly how I made this cute mini album.

I hope all this talk about strawberries inspires you to make your own little berry shaped mini. Or ... maybe it just made you hungry for strawberries, lol! Either way, have fun and Happy National Pick Strawberries Day!
