Hi friends! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project and this time I made a cupcake shaped birthday mini album. It seems we have a theme this week because yesterday was Artsy Album's 15th birthday! Yep ... 15 years! Yay! To celebrate I made a colorful 12x12 birthday layout, and opened the Hive Membership for new member enrollment! Be sure to check those out. The layout and today's mini are filled with lots of great ideas for saving photos of family, friends, a cake, gifts, and sweet birthday memories! 🎂

For today's cute cupcake mini, I used the colorful new Balloons and Banners Collection (links below). It features lots of fun party decorations, cakes, balloons, gumball machines, stars, party hats, and shades of blue, green, and orange. To create the shape, I chose the adorable Bar-B-Cute Cupcakes cutting file. I cut 2 covers out of white acrylic, but you could use cardstock or chipboard instead.

On the front, I added some pattern papers filled with cute little sprinkles. I embellished with balloon and gift Odds & Ends die cuts and a few enamel stars. Then for dimension, I chose the Happy Birthday puffy sticker for the title and the adorable "Surprise Party" Doodle-pops. I love how celebratory it looks!

Just inside the cover, I added a little pocket made with die cuts from the Bits & Pieces. I used the striped pocket piece and tucked the clipboard journaling card inside. Then, I decorated with more Odds & Ends, the "It's Your Day" sticker from the puffy words, and some enamel Hip Hip Hooray sprinkles.

Next, I added 8 white cardstock pages (4 double-sided) that I layered with colorful 12x12 and 6x8 patterned papers. I added a few interactive elements too that include 2 pockets and 1 flippie.

For this layout, I used the limeade polka dot titled Sweet Cupcakes and cut 2 photo mats out of the Shine Bright paper. Love the little stars! I decorated with die cuts from the Odds & Ends, then added some shiny enamel shape sprinkles.

This page reminds me of a scene from a Peanuts cartoon strip, lol! I imagined the gifts were piled on a table and people were in the room behind them holding the flags and having fun. The word bubbles are them speaking and the hearts are coming up from them as they enjoy the party. Ohhh ... the places my brain goes to as I'm scrapbooking! 😂

Here's a great spot for a picture of the birthday boy or girl! In the background, I used the striped paper called Celebration Streamers. I created a round photo mat using 3.5" and 4" circle punches, then embellished with the "Best Birthday Ever" and cupcake die cuts.

Above, I added the plaid paper titled Check It Out. Such great colors! Then, I created a flippie using a 3x4 card from the Cake Sprinkles print. I added some enamel dots, then decorated with the orange tab and "happy" sticker from the This & That sheet. Now this page has space for 2 photos!

I covered this page in the star side of the Cue The Confetti print. I added a photo mat and tucked the cute balloons mini icon sticker in behind it. Then, I added the "Birthday" from the Chit Chat, the Party from the puffy word stickers, and the colorful row of hearts from the Hip Hip Hooray sprinkles.
