Turning Cards into a Halloween Mini Album

Hey scrappers! Today I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project, which you can also see over on their amazing blog. So, I was feeling creative and decided to rework some colorful greeting cards into a Halloween mini album or ... folio. I just love the bright colors and the small details 👀 in this little album!!

I've added a short flip-through VIDEO at the bottom of the page so be sure to watch it. You'll see lots of cuteness from Doodlebug's Happy Haunting collection.

To start, I found 4 Doodlebug A2 striped cards in my stash that were the perfect colors for Halloween. I glued the back of each card, to the flap on the front of the next card until all 4 were together. That made the base for my album.

Then I added white card stock to each page to create a mat. It made all the bright colors in this collection really stand out.

The black card on top created a gate-fold cover. I added 6x6 patterned paper to each side in a bright plaid and cute polka dot. The rainbow "Ghoul Friends" sticker is from the This and That and it's perfect with the plaid. I added two boutique buttons, googly eye sprinkles and a bit of bubblegum twine for a closure.

On these inside pages, I used one of the cute blocks from the Bewitched paper, a few die cuts, and a plain mat for a fun Halloween photo. This album would be perfect for pictures of pumpkin carving, costumes, decorations, a party, a haunted house, or a Halloween Fright Night!

For the next 3 cards, I adhered the striped flap on the right side down to create pockets. I love a pocket! And, a flippie! So ... I added the adorable "Bugs and Hisses" square to a folding card made out of black cardstock. That little cutie will hold 2 fun photos.

The pockets are great for extra pics, journaling notes, or small memorabilia like tickets to a haunted house or a party invitation. I tucked in some fun tags from the Bits & Pieces, along with mats for photos. The buttons are another cute detail. You can find Doodlebug's Boutique Buttons over at Starlit Studios.

Here's the short flip-through video of this album. I hope it inspires you to create something boo-tiful for your Halloween memories! Product links are listed below.
