I'm quickly hopping on the blog today to share an album that I created this week when I was in the mood to play with really pretty paper. Of course, I'm ALWAYS in the mood to play with pretty paper ... but I didn't have enough of this collection to create a kit, so I had fun designing a one of a kind, preassembled album for my shop.
For this album I used the My Valentine collection by Simple Stories and a chipboard album by Prima. I love the vintage, watercolor feel of the papers and embellishments and the pretty shade of blue throughout adds a lot to the traditional pink and red color palette.
I also used Bazzill Garnet and Lakeshore card stock, but when I checked on these colors, it seems both have been discontinued :( . I think when American Crafts bought Bazzill, many of the original colors changed names or were retired, so I need to update my stash!
I'm not a huge fan of fussy cutting, not because I don't love how it looks, but because I'm not very good at it and need more than my contacts to see all the little details. But I did cut around some flowers on the 3x4 card above and love how they look over the photo mat.
If you love these pretty papers and embellies as much as I do, check out scrapbook.com (links below) for details. Aside from Valentine's Day, they would be beautiful on any project about a loved one, family, friends, or even a rose garden!
I hope you'll join me back here tomorrow for a new Doodlebug project I'll be sharing! Until then, keep telling your story in scrapbooks, because someday, someone will want to know!
