Lots of Luck Photo Heart Box Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project that I made with the colorful Lots O' Luck Collection and some petite prints. I found a super fun 3D box cut file by Lori Whitlock called Heart Box and I just loved the little cut outs on the sides. It gave me an idea for a cute St. Patrick's Day project that holds 12 photos in a super unique way! ✨️

First, check out my video to see how it works, then I'll give you some tips on making one for yourself.

As you can see, there's a ribbon attached to the inside of the lid that has photos all along it. As you lift the lid, the pictures come streaming out. So cute & you can make this for ANY occasion by simply changing out the paper collection.

To begin, I used my Silhouette machine to enlarge the two box pieces of the file so that the square in the center of the lid was 4"x4". Then, I cut the top piece out of Bazzill's lime crush card stock and the bottom out of white card stock. I used a strong liquid glue to adhere them.

Next, I cut a small slit on the inside of the lid. I put one end of my 30" ribbon through it and glued it to the top.

On the outside, I covered the lid with white card stock, a petite prints floral and graph in cherry, and the So Charming print from Doodlebug's
6x6 Lots O' Luck paper pad. I punched out a 3" scalloped circle and added a sticker from the This & That, a 1 3/4" polka dot circle, and a clover die cut from the Odds & Ends on top.

Next were the photos. I adhered six 3.5" x 3.5" white card stock squares along the ribbon and layered some pretty pattern papers (3.25" x 3.25") on top of each. Then I added 12 photos cropped to 3x3 inches.

Now that the photos were done, I finished the base of the box. With the green lid on the white base, I added the enamel heart shape sprinkles to the sides using a craft knife to position them through the cut outs.

I adhered a small strip of the 6x6 print called Rainbows End to the bottom of the white box. I love the way it looks with those heart shaped sprinkles. And check out all the cute patterned papers peeking out from behind my granddaughter's photos. I used a mix of 6x6 and 12x12 prints.

Finally, I added the All My Love Doodle-pop hearts (back-to-back) on the end of the ribbon to finish it off. What a fun way to showcase a few pictures of "the bug", aka my granddaughter :).
