12x12 Sister Scrapbook Layout with Bella Blvd

Hello everyone! Any where you look these days whether it's fashion, home decor, or scrapbooking ... you'll find the chevron pattern. This popular zig-zag stripe is showing up on pillows, purses, shirts, shades, and scrapbook paper. So when Bella Blvd introduced Daily Chevies, I knew I wanted to incorporate this fun collection into my projects. And ... my first layout with it is being featured over on Frosted Designs today! Check it out ...

Everyone say hi to my sister :)  This photo was taken in West Palm Beach a few years back and is one of my favorites. Look at that blue water ... sigh ... I want to go back!

Have I told y'all about my current addiction to twine?... (no, not wine, LOL)! I absolutely love this colorful twisted string! I've been wrapping it around photo mats and today, I've wrapped it around my whole page :)

Hopefully this layout has inspired you to use some chevron patterns (and a little twine, of course) on your pages! Thanks for stopping by today!

Echo Park & Lori Whitlock -- Love them!

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be sharing a really fun fall project over on Lori Whitlock's site today. Being on Lori's design team has been wonderful because not only are Lori's silhouette cutting files awesome and tons of fun to use on projects, but since she designs paper and embellishments for Echo Park, I get to play with collections from one of my favorite paper companies :)

This is one of those times. This may look like a box but it's actually an album! Check it out :)

Lori’s envelope explosion box is just adorable and as I was putting it together (which was lots of fun, love all the pieces), I thought about some fun ideas for using it. It would be a wonderful 3d scrapbook, with little photos tucked into each of the 8 pockets. And, it would also make a wonderful Thanksgiving keepsake for the dinner table. Each guest could journal on the little cards about what they are thankful for in 2013. How wonderful to have their handwriting, sentiment and a photo tucked into the envelope pocket for sharing each Thanksgiving!

Once the box portion is complete, it looks like this:

They're both made with the new Simple Stories, Say Cheese Collection with its adorable Disney-like theme. There are mouse ears, stars, stripes,  and the classic color scheme of red, yellow, black, and white. These projects will highlight your Disney photos perfectly!

First up, my Our Magical Adventure Album ...

Next up, my 6-page Mouse Magic 12x12 Layout Kit ...

This fun DIY project is perfect for saving pictures of a Disney vacation, the theme park, castle, thrilling rides, parade, exciting fireworks, friends, family, mouse ears, and your favorite characters.

These 6 pages (3 double-page layouts) will make a great addition to any album.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Simple Stories Smarty Pants, School Mini Album

I'm popping on to the blog this morning to share some pics of the most recent mini album kit.  I just love anything Simple Stories comes out with and "Smarty Pants" is such a fun school collection!  I added a cute wooden ruler and some gingham ribbon to the cover -- perfect for school photos, a teacher's gift, or even field trip pictures.

School Card & Treat Bag - Sept. Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock

Welcome to Artsy Albums and your next stop on Lori Whitlock's September Blog Hop!  If you're starting here, be sure to head over to Lori's site to start from the beginning!  You won't want to miss the inspiration and fun projects at each stop!

For my project, I'm sharing my take on two of Lori's adorable designs -- the Apple Favor Bag and the A2 Dot Card.  I thought this would make such a cute gift set for a teacher or your child's bus driver!

For the A2 Dot Card, I cut the base out of red card stock, and the top layer out of white.  The holes match up perfectly, so it was very easy to adhere the top layer to the front of the card.

For the Chalkboard element, I used Lori's Back To School Board, but changed it up a bit since this needs to be a thank you card.  The file comes with two layers so I cut the larger, bottom layer from black card stock.  For the top "thank you" layer, I made a Print and Cut and the font I used ('chalkdust') was downloaded from the internet.  The cute apple comes with this file also, but I did enlarge it to a size that I thought looked cute on the card.

For the Apple Favor Bag, I decided to replace the apple with Lori's cute little school bus.  I re-sized it to fit on the bag's belly band, and used gems for the lights -- SO cute!!

I had so much fun with all of Lori's designs this week.
