Hi friends! Today, I'm sharing my new Lori Whitlock Design Team Project and this week, I made a pretty 12x12 scrapbook page that's great for Valentine's Day photos. I used Lori's gorgeous cutting file called Square Background Set 2 (links below) that has the cutest heart shaped cutouts. Ohhhh, how I love it!
This file is perfect for Valentine's day but since hearts are so generic, it can be used for ANY occasion. With a different paper collection, you could design this for birthday, wedding, family, pets, ... endless possibilities.
To make it, I started with 12x12 red cardstock as the base. Then, I cut Lori's file out twice - one in white card stock and another in Doodlebug Design's Buffalo Check and Woodgrain in swimming pool (links below).
Next, I layered the white paper on top of the base cardstock. I love how the red shows through the cutouts. But for a little more color, I glued the little blue hearts from my second cut all around the edge. You could also make all of the hearts different colors or every other heart a different color.
In the center, I added square photo mats sized at - red 2.75", white 2.5", and prints 2.25". For the patterns, I chose 6x6 papers from Doodlebug's Lots of Love Collection, then embellished with the Odds & Ends, Chit Chat, This & That stickers, and mini icon stickers (links below).
Here is what the file looks like ...
Lori has lots of amazing background cutting files in her shop and they're so fun to create with. I hope today's layout inspires you to use one in your next project. Thanks for stopping by the blog and happy scrapping!
