Hello friends! When was the last time you created a project about you and your girlfriends and/or sisters? It's been a while for me, so I decided to make a mini using one of my favorite Doodlebug collections, Cream & Sugar. I love the colors and honestly, nothing in my world happens before I have my coffee!
Since friends and coffee go great together, I made this album more about friendship than pictures of us drinking coffee. I think it's adorable & love the way it turned out.
For the pages, I cut the base coffee cup out several times using Doodlebug's, Coffee To Go - Cream & Sugar Cutting file (link below). I made an internal offset of the shape and cut the offset out from different pattern papers.
The first page is my friend Lori. My son is married to her daughter and we are "co-grandmas". We both take care of our little princess and are super close. This picture was taken on one of our "Grandparents Weekend Away" trips. By the way, how cute are those Doodlebug coffee mugs?!
This is Gina. We met when we both worked at Archivers. I KNOW! ... we miss it too! We started scrapbooking and traveling to crops together years ago and have been close friends ever since. These pictures were taken in Vancouver at a scrapbook retreat.
The little journaling spot at the top of the page was cut from a sheet in the 6x6 paper pad. I always get 12x12 and 6x6 papers ... both sizes come in handy for any project.
This is my sister, Kim. People say we look alike but we don't see it. :) She doesn't drink coffee but is absolutely my best friend in the entire world so she had to be in my book, coffee or no coffee. She does love desserts so the odds & ends on this page were perfect. This pic was taken at my son's wedding. I couldn't have handled that big event without her.
After I designed each page, I punched a hole in the top corner and added some chunky twine (which, by the way, is another thing I can't live without), lol!
Life is soooo sweet and I can't imagine it without my friends. This photo is of me, Gina and two more of my besties ... Roxanne and Rushita. We all worked together at Archivers. Rushita is just one of the sweetest people I know. I love to tease her because she is by far the youngest of the group. She has young children and has had to listen to the rest of us talk about menopause and raising teenagers (now adults) over the years. Rox and I have a ton in common ... we both have sons, enjoy decorating, worry about the same things and can't scrapbook without singing (and not always in tune ... okay, never in tune). I love these girls.
Thanks for visiting today. This project was made for Doodlebug design team's "Off the Page" challenge which you can see HERE. Until next time, happy crafting everyone!
