Lovebugs Mini Album with Valentine Box

Hey guys! I'm so excited to be sharing my first design team project over on Doodlebug's blog today! It was so much fun to create and hopefully it will inspire you. Here are the details!

For this project, I was inspired by Valentine candy boxes.  I decided to create my own heart shaped box using a cutting file designed by Lori Whitlock, some Silhouette brand chipboard, and lots of goodies from the Doodlebug Lovebugs collection.

For the box, I used my CAMEO to cut all the pieces out of chipboard and then pattern paper.  (I enlarged all pieces before cutting so that a 5.5" album would fit inside).  I assembled everything together with a strong liquid adhesive and then had fun creating the top of the box.  I used Doodlebugs Chippers (in ladybug) for my title, along with with stickers, buttons, twine, and a few heart-shaped sprinkles. I also used cupcake twine around the edge of the box to cover up the chipboard.

For the mini album, I cut 6 hearts out of white textured card stock, and then added layers of paper from the 6x6 Lovebugs paper pad.  I love that the prints are smaller, and the cut-apart cards are miniature -- they fit perfectly throughout my little album.

Thanks so much for letting me share with you today!!

  4. Love this set, it's adorable. I've just downloaded the Lori Whitlock heart box svg so I can get started on mine right away! Can you tell me what size you made the heart box in your Silhouette so the mini album fits properly? Thanks for sharing this cute project.

    1. Hi Jill! You can actually make the box and album any size you want. Once you resize the box (Mine is approximately 5 1/2" wide, then just copy the bottom portion of the box, make it a bit smaller for the album, and then use this new shape for the album. Have fun!!
