Doodlebug Happy Go Lucky Gift Set

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be back over on Doodlebug's blog today to share a cute gift idea using their Happy-Go-Lucky collection. This is a really fun project to make for St. Patrick's Day or ... any happy occasion. I made this as a teacher's gift set but you could make it for anyone.

To start, I used white card stock and "Happy-Go-Lucky" pattern paper called Colorful Clovers to create the small gift box. I used a cutting file by Alaa'K (link below) and tied ribbon through the holes in the corners.

I love Doodlebug's cards so I used two of them in my project. I used a limeade A6 swiss dot card and added a cute polka dot paper called Rows of Rainbows. For my sticky note holder, I used a limeade slim filigree card.

To create the sticky note holder:
Lay your slim filigree card open with the bracket shape to the left. Using the measurements on your score board (or a ruler), create 4 score lines as shown below (1 3/4", 2", 5" and 5 1/4").  Ignore the original score line as you will cover this up with pattern paper.  Next, cut the end of the card off so that your new card is 8 1/4" long.

Add pattern paper and a button with twine to the outside, and glue a sticky note pad on the inside.

For the pen, I wrapped limeade swiss dot washi tape around the pen and cut and layered flowers out of pattern paper for the top.  A cute limeade boutique button and bubblegum twine finished off the pen.

What's a gift without a bit of chocolate right?  So I wrapped 1" pattern paper strips around chocolate nugget candies and tucked them into a Doodlebug bubblegum striped treat bag.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this inspires you to create your own gift set. Below are some of the product links used in making this project and a few suggested substitutions.
