Simple Stories Old School Mini Album

Hi everyone! Today, I'm over on the Simple Stories blog sharing my latest mini album using the cute new Simple Stories Old School Collection and a 4x6 inch Sn@p binder in black.

I wanted a small album that I could have for my son's school pictures K-8. This collection worked perfectly since the album is small and I only needed a few sheets of paper and stickers.

The 3x4 pocket pages are perfect for wallet size school photos! 

The collection comes with some great 3x4 and 4x6 cards too!

Home Sweet Home Waterfall Scrapbook Album

Hey friends! I'm over on the Doodlebug blog today sharing my Home Sweet Home Scrapbook Album. It's my latest Design Team Project that I created with the adorable Yankee Doodle Collection and lots of colorful ribbons. I even found a small stand (by 7 Gypsies) to hang it on so I can display it anywhere. How cute! 

I designed this mini with layered waterfall style pages so that the different pattern papers can really be seen. On the cover, I added the adorable house and acetate cloud die cuts from the Odds & Ends. The little red truck is a mini icon sticker and the title is from the 12x12 Summer Celebration print. 

Just underneath the front cover, I added a pretty floral paper, a photo mat, and a fun little acetate bicycle. Check out the metallic silver foil spokes on the wheels!  And on the red page, I made a fun flippie with a 4x4 card so you can add 2 photos inside.

These pages above are filled with lots of red, white and blue patterns but none of them are strictly 4th of July. Instead, they give the album a wonderful Americana feel so it could hold family photos from throughout the year. I love that!

The cloud paper above is titled Star Spangled and I'm loving that they look like whimsical little scribbles!

Here, I layered the Festive Flowers print, blue jean linen, and the Patriotic Paisley. I made the tag with white graph paper and added the Home Sweet Home mini icon sticker. The "sweet" is metallic silver foil and a bit hard to see due to the lighting. I finished the page with a pretty flower piece from the Odds & Ends.

Everyone knows I love the Odds & Ends that come with each collection but check out the jar mini icon stickers above. They are adorable and what a fun little size. They are perfect for mini albums and cards!

Above are 2 more flippies (aka flip-up cards) that I made to tuck extra photos in. These flippies allow for 4 pictures on this page instead of just one or two. Nice!

This mini album can be used for all kinds of family and home photos. Add pictures of friends, game night, special dinners, birthday celebrations, BBQs, backyard fun, and everyday memories.

Birthday Gift Card Holder with Tutorial

Hey guys! Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Design Team Project and this time I made a colorful multi gift card holder / folder with a cute birthday theme. It opens up to reveal 3 pockets and space for photos, cards, notes, and embellishments. What a fun and creative way to give gift cards! 🌈🦄🧁

I created it with the adorable Fairy Tales Collection and white card stock. I just love the cute unicorn on the front with her colorful rainbow mane and party hat!

The folder opens up into 3 sections to reveal fun patterned papers and embellies. On the left side, I added the Unicorn Doodle-pops. In the middle, I chose a cupcake sticker from the This & That sheet. And on the right, I used die cuts from the Odds & Ends, a Boutique Button, and the castle shaped Cute Clips. But wait ... there's more!

 

 

Open the flaps and there are 3 pockets and space to add photos, cards, and more. I used the cute gingham treat bags. They're perfect for holding gift cards, cash, or tickets to a fun event. The castle and unicorn clips are just adorable, but they also hold the flaps down and keep the cash in! 😉

 

Here is a diagram for the measurements of the gift card holder ...

 

 

You'll need one sheet of 12x12 card stock for the base ...

1. Start by scoring the 12x12 card stock at 3.5", 4", 8", and 8.5".
2. Rotate the paper 90 degrees to the left.
3. Score again at 3" and 7.5".
4. Trim out the areas shown in black on the diagram above.

 

You could make this with ANY collection so it could also be used for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's / Father's Day, graduation, or ... a fabulous thank you gift. After the gift cards are removed, the recipient could still use this by adding photos to the pockets as a cute little keepsake!

Faith Scrapbook Album and 12x12 Layouts

I designed both projects with the Simple Stories Faith Collection. The mini album uses a 6x8 inch Simple Stories binder in navy. There are flowers, feathers, hearts, cute houses, pretty patterns, and SO many inspirational phrases. 

Inside, there are 12 scrapbook pages that include 2 flippies, 3 pockets, and many great journaling spaces.

Here is one of the three pockets. It's wonderful for storing extra photos, prayer cards, or inspirational notes. And inside, I've added ...

... this beautiful card! You could use the backside as a large photo mat, or use it for journaling notes, goals, lists, prayers, bible verses, etc.

Pocket number 2 is covered in colorful feathers and has another journaling card, however ... you could also add memorabilia like a tickets, brochures, or church program.

Graduation Album with Doodlebug

Congrats to all of the graduates out there! I remember celebrating my boys' graduations from high school a few years back. It's such an exciting time and those memories need to be captured! What better way than with a fun mini album and some awesome products from Doodlebug's Hats Off collection!

One of my favorite things about this new collection is the silver. I love that it's metallic so that it gives the paper and embellishments some shine ... perfect for a celebration!

For the inside cover, I added a Diploma from the Mini Diplomas and Caps along with some of the great Odds & Ends die cut pieces.  What a fun little spot for adding a name and date!

Since my album is 6x6, I was able to use the sheets from the 6x6 paper pad for my backgrounds. 

The clear die cut film strip, and the Skinny silver alpha stickers worked perfectly for adding the graduation year to one of the pages.
