Gift Card Folder with Doodlebug Fairy Tales

Hey Doodlebug Friends! Today I'm sharing my latest Design Team project and this time it's a Pinterest inspired challenge. I found this black and gold folding mini album project on Pinterest and it inspired me to create something so fun and super colorful! 🌈🦄🧁  Take a look ...

Ta-daaaah!! It's a fun birthday gift card holder folder, lol! I used the Doodlebug, Fairy Tales Collection and I think the cover turned out really cute with the unicorn. What a perfect birthday present.

I love the mix of patterned papers and all the fun embellishments that get revealed as you unfold it. Then, open it all the way up and viola! Birthday goodies!

For my version, I simply replaced some of the photos with pockets. The gingham treat bags are perfect for tucking in gift cards, cash, or tickets to a fun event. The cute castle and unicorn clips (purchase here) are not only so stinkin' cute, but they hold the flaps down and keep the cash in!

This is a diagram for measurements that came with the original project ...

What you need to make this cute folder is one sheet of 12x12 card stock, some pattern paper, and some embellishments.
  1. Start by scoring the 12x12 card stock at 3.5", 4", 8", and 8.5".
  2. Rotate the paper 90 degrees to the left.
  3. Score again at 3" and 7.5".
  4. Trim out the areas shown in black on the Pinterest diagram above.

After the gift cards are removed, the birthday girl could still use this by adding photos to the pockets as a cute little keepsake! :)
