Custom Scrapbook Designs

Good Sunday morning!
Today I'm reminded of how truly blessed I am.  In so many ways -- family, friends, health... and at Artsy Albums.  Two years ago, I took a huge leap of faith, quit my job, and decided to follow my passion.  I hoped and prayed that I would sell just 100 albums in my first year.  I did (barely), and thanks to my many wonderful customers, I will soon hit the 750 mark!  I'm thrilled that my do-it-yourself kits are a client favorite, and today I wanted to share a few albums you may have never seen -- custom one-of-a-kind albums that were made by special request, for very special people.

Feeling so thankful,

Stitching With Your Silhouette

Happy Saturday Friends!
I hopping on my blog this morning to share a fun Silhouette technique with you.  I love the look of stitching on scrapbook projects, but my sewing machine and I have a love/hate relationship -- I would love to use it, but hate lugging it out, threading everything, and then getting reminded how "not good" I am at using it. So, since I use my CAMEO every single day, I've decided that the "look" of stitching will have to do for now.

I created this baby mini album for the Silhouette blog, and posted a tutorial on how to create fun stitch lines with the software's print and cut features.  You can check out the whole tutorial here.

I made the base of my album with Silhouette's chipboard.  As you all know, I am a chipboard loving girl when it comes to my mini albums, and I was pleasantly surprised with Silhouette's product.  It cut beautifully in my machine and added a nice sturdy backing to each of the pages in this album.

For the title, I cut several of the same shape out of the chipboard and layered them together to create my own chipboard accent piece.  So cool -- I'm going to being doing this more often!

So head over to Silhouette to get all of the details on how to make the stitch lines, and for all the links to each shape I used on this mini.  Have fun and come back to visit soon!

Day 2: We R Memory Keepers Jet Set Projects

As promised, I'm back today with a mini album project using one of We R Memory Keepers brand new CHA releases.  This collection is called Jet Set and I had so much fun creating with this versatile and colorful paper line.   As soon as I saw this fun piece of 12x12 USA map paper, I knew it would be a great cover for a travel album.  You could even put a brad or gem embellishment on the state, or states, that you visited.   Jet Set will be available in April!
I created this gate fold album with a simple piece of chipboard, cut to size, and the Cinch binding tool.  If you love minis, and don't have a Cinch, I would encourage you to visit We R Memory's website to check it out!  I have not only cinched many of my mini albums, but several school and work projects as well!  Love it!

I hope you'll stop back by the blog tomorrow!  I'll be doing a fun Blog Hop with the other members of the Lori Whitlock creative team!  We have lots of new fun things to share with you on the hop!

A Winter Silhouette Layout

Happy Friday friends!
I was inspired by all of the chilly (okay...cold!) weather we've been having recently, so today you'll find me over on the Silhouette blog sharing this wintery layout.

Did you know that you can design your page layout in the Silhouette software?  You can even drop in photos so that you can see your page before you ever cut the first piece of paper!

How fun is that?  I create almost all of my pages this way now.  Once I have everything the way I like it, I just move pieces off to the side and start cutting shapes out.   It also helps if I use the "fill color" tool.  That way, I can cut all of the same color shapes at once!  It saves time and paper!

Leave me a comment letting me know if you've ever created a page in your Silhouette software -- I'd love to hear your ideas!

Winter Wonderland Layout & Two New Kits!!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!!  I have lots to share with you today!

First, a wintery layout that I created for the Silhouette blog.  I've been anxious to create a page with Echo Park's new "Keepin Cozy" paper collection.  I just love the frosty blues and the touches of red.  I also had this photo tucked away for something fun, so when my turn came up over at Silhouette, I knew what I wanted to do :)

The photo above does not do justice to the title on this layout...so check out the picture below.  I used a metallic silver sketch pen, in my CAMEO machine, to sketch the title -- love this technique!

Visit Silhouette's blog to see additional close-ups of this layout and to get links to all of the fun shapes I used to create this page.

More news....I added two brand new 12x12 page layout kits to the shop yesterday.  You'll want to check these out to complete 7 layouts very quickly -- that's 14 pages!

These kits are perfect for everyday photos ("The Daily Grind") and all of those Christmas pictures ("Tis The Season") that are still sitting on your camera!

Order these kits today and have 14 pages done in no time!

Finally, I want to thank all of you so much for an amazing 2013!  You are the reason I'm able to own a small business and I'm so thankful for your support, comments, orders, and friendship.  With other businesses closing all the time, I realize how blessed I am to be able to do what I love....thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

May your New Year be filled with happiness and good health,
