Lovebugs Mini Album with Valentine Box

Hi crafty friends! I'm so excited to be sharing my first Doodlebug Design Team Project over on their blog today! I made a Valentine's Day heart shaped mini album that tucks inside a heart shaped box! It was so much fun to create and I hope it you love it as much as I do. Take a look ...

For this project, I was inspired by Valentine candy boxes. I decided to create my own heart box using a cutting file designed by Lori Whitlock, some Silhouette brand chipboard, and lots of goodies from the Doodlebug Lovebugs collection.

For the box, I used my CAMEO to cut all the pieces out of chipboard and then pattern paper.  (I enlarged all pieces before cutting so that a 5.5" album would fit inside).  I assembled everything together with a strong liquid adhesive and then had fun creating the top of the box.  I used Doodlebugs Chippers (in ladybug) for my title, along with with stickers, buttons, twine, and a few heart-shaped sprinkles. I also used cupcake twine around the edge of the box to cover up the chipboard.

For the mini album, I cut 6 hearts out of white textured card stock, and then added layers of paper from the 6x6 Lovebugs paper pad.  I love that the prints are smaller, and the cut-apart cards are miniature -- they fit perfectly throughout my little album.

Thanks so much for letting me share with you today!!

Winter Scrapbook Layout & Christmas Album

Hey friends! I'm hopping on the blog today to share some of my recent projects with you. Nothing makes me happier than a table full of cute, colorful paper and embellishments. I just get lost in all the fun!

First, I have this 12x12 winter layout that I created with some pictures of my son and my niece. Doodlebug's Frosty Friends Collection was perfect for this page.

I only had these two small photos so I created a collage using paper and embellies. Then I made a cute swirly sketch line with my CAMEO machine. A few little enamel dots finished the page. How cute are those snowmen?? ... and those kids! :)

Next up, is this Christmas mini album. I used a Doodlebug chipboard album and Bella Blvd's Christmas Cheer paper. I just love the candy cane stripe on the cover, and the snow globe peeking through the window.

The snow globe is actually a fun little flip card (aka a flippie!) that could hold 2 photos or journaling.

Oh my gosh, that reindeer paper!! It's so cute! What a fun backdrop for a photo with Santa, decorating the tree, Christmas morning, or opening presents!

I hope these inspire you to make something fun for the season. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and letting me share my projects with you!

December Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock Designs

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Lori Whitlock's December blog hop!
If you just hopped on at my blog, be sure to head back over to Lori's site and start from the beginning :)  There are lots of fun projects at each stop so you won't want to miss any of them!

For my project, I created a cute Christmas package for one of my gifts. I'm always amazed at the cute designs that Lori comes up with, and when I saw her Santa sleigh, I knew a few of them had to be tucked under my Christmas tree!

Santa is such a great guy that I decided his sleigh deserved lots of sparkly bling.  I added rows of crystal gems along the silver metallic card stock to give this little sleigh all the shine it deserves.  The cutting file is super easy to assemble, and once it's all glued together, it makes the perfect presentation for a cute little gift.  Fill the sleigh with candy or a small present, or you could even hang it on your tree.

In addition to all the cute gems and sparkly card stock, I added a chipboard "sign" on the front of the sleigh.  Lori designed the chipboard for her Echo Park "Christmas Cheer" collection, and it fit perfectly on the sleigh front, along with a few more gems and some red twine.

Like the sign says, "Tis the Season To Be Jolly,"  so I hope your Christmas is filled with fun, family, friends, creativity and lots of "jolly!"

Now back to the hop....your next stop is Kathy's blog!
