Hi sweet friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Today, I'm sharing my latest Doodlebug Design Team Project. I made a cute flip flop shaped mini album titled Aloha that's filled with the Summer Fun Collection. It's great for photos of a summer vacation, backyard fun, a swimming pool, the beach, summer camp, boating, and warm weather adventures!
For the shape of the album, I used Doodlebug's Summer Fun cutting file called Flip Flops (links below). I welded the flip flops together in my Silhouette software and sized the shape to approx. 5.75" x 5.75". I cut the mini album covers out of white acrylic, but you could also use card stock or chipboard instead.
On the front, I added 2 flip flop pieces cut from the 6x8 Beach Towel stripe print. Then I embellished with some flower icon stickers, enamel shape sprinkles, and the Aloha die cut from the Chit Chat (links below).
Inside, I added 6 white card stock pages and covered them in fun papers from the 6x8 paper pad. Above I used the sunny Summer Fun print in the background, then added the cute 4x3 card from the 12x12 Flamazing Flock paper. The arrow is from the This & That stickers.
Here, I covered the base in the pretty "Let's Luau" paper. I love the colorful flowers. I made the photo mat with a 3" scallop circle punch and 2.5" circle punch and embellished with flower die cuts from the Bit & Pieces.
On this layout, I used the 6x8 floral print called Pink Paradise and added a floral journaling card from the 12x12 Summer School paper. The cute flamingo is a die cut from the Odds & Ends and the words are from the This & That sticker sheet.
Aren't these pages cute? On the left, a little chameleon is hangin' out at the top of the photo mat. And below, I added some words from the Chit Chat and the This & That Sticker sheet.
On the right, I used the pretty plaid paper in the background. I created a little beach scene next to the mat using the palm tree, a cute crab, and the sun icon stickers. Then, I finished it off with the word bubble die cut from the Chit Chat.
Here are some really great pages for a day at the beach or the swimming pool. I love the colorful beach ball and cute unicorn floatie die cuts on the left. On the right, I added the Petite Prints Dot & Stripe in citrus for simpler tone-on-tone background.
Every mini needs a flippie so I added one to this page for more photo space. I started with the 3x4 Enjoy the Beauty card from the 6x8 paper pad and made it into a folding element with white card stock. I added the adorable Water Babies print inside, and voila ... space for 2 pictures instead of 1!
This Summer Fun collection covers a lot of different outdoor activities. If you enjoy bike riding, I added a page for that. Biking is a great outdoor activity, especially if your on vacation. You can see some sights, feel a breeze of fresh air, and get your daily cardio in!
Or ... if you prefer keeping your feet on the ground (or in a boat) the layout on the right is great for fishing. Aren't those little mini icon fish stickers adorable with the matching 6x8 Summer School paper? So cute!
The last 2 pages (above) are perfect for a beach vacation. We always look for dolphin in the water or baby sea turtles hatching at sunrise. Super special moments. And at the end of the day ... damp swim suits and towels are draped everywhere! The traditions of family vacations stick with you forever. I ❤️ that.
Don't forget to visit the shop for my clear Acrylic Display Stand. This new Flip Flop scrapbook looks great sitting on it and the stand practically disappears! Not only will your mini album make a fun accent and conversation piece in your home, but ... more importantly, it displays your fun summer memories.
