Simple Stories Merry & Bright Snap Album

I realize everyone is thinking about fall, and pumpkins, and Halloween these days ... and I'm not usually one of those people that starts planning for Christmas far in advance.  But when I received the Merry & Bright collection I fell in love with the colors and was eager to start a new project!
I've been wanting a Christmas album, with just a few photos from each year, to set out for the holidays. Since I have older photos, the creams in this collection really worked well.  This is my son, 27 years ago!
I used papers from the 6x8 paper pad for this album.  I love the interest and fun that pages like this Santa add to the album.

I also used a combination of divided photo sleeves and full 6x8 pages.  The full page design allows me to play with lots of fun papers and embellishments.
On the page above I used stickers, bits & pieces die cuts, and chipboard.
The binder album that is part of the Merry & Bright collection is great too!  It comes with add in pages that include the pocket above.  I decided to use the pocket to store a few Christmas cards, but extra photos, holiday recipes, letters to Santa, and gift lists would all be perfect in this pocket!
The outside of the album is really pretty by itself, but I added a green ribbon, a few chipboard pieces, and some gems to give it a little shine.

I have a long way to go to get my album ready for the holidays but this collection is so much fun to play with I'm looking forward to documenting all of the other years!   Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Photo Crate with Doodlebug Pumpkin Party

Happy Fall everyone!  Can you believe we're just a week and a half away from Halloween?  I love this season and it's always a really fun time for craft projects.  I decided to combine memory keeping and halloween decor for this post, by making a photo crate.

I decorated the outside of my crate with DoodlePops and glitter sprinkles, and filled the inside with file folders, photo cards, and envelopes. I will tuck photos into these pieces after halloween and always have a cute decor piece to set out each year.
The file folders were cut with my silhouette machine (here's the link for the folders, and here) and each folder is held closed with those precious jelly clips!
The paper is from Pumpkin Party and the new dots/stripes petite prints.
In addition to the file folders, I also used cards from the Pumpkin Party Card Assortment.  Since I'll be adding photos to these pieces, I decorated them like mini scrapbook pages. I should have called this project the "DoodlePop crate" ... I used so many (12 I think)!
Finally, I tucked in a few decorated envelopes.  I'll add photos to the outside, and include stories, journaling, and additional photos in these.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll visit me over at Artsy Albums sometime!

Fall Memories

I can finally feel it! There's a tiny nip in the air this morning, and a slight color change on the leaves. Fall is officially here, but I was having trouble getting into the spirit of the season with 90 degree temps!

With pumpkins on my mind today, I wanted to share some pictures of our fall mini album kit (available in the Artsy Albums shop). We still have a few left if you want a fun and easy way to document your fall memories.

I used Simple Stories Forever Fall collection for this album.  I love the colors! Pops of pink and blue and combined with traditional fall colors of orange, brown, and cinnamon.  So pretty!

Even though the album is just 6"x6", it has lots of space for photos and journaling. There are pockets and folding elements throughout the book to make it interactive and provide extra space.
I think this keepsake would also be a wonderful gift for a hostess at Thanksgiving or a fall dinner. Who wouldn't want to save memories of family and friends in a special album that could be set out each year?

Get your DIY album kit (or premade album) in the shop today before they're gone!   Fall Memories Kit

Happy Fall Ya'll :)

October Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock Designs

Hi crafty friends!  Today is Lori Whitlock's October Blog Hop!  My site is the first stop on the hop, so if you're starting here, be sure to visit Lori's site too because she has some goodies for you ... a sale, a giveaway, and a cute freebie!

For my project, I created a few of Lori's ornate fall cards!  An adorable pumpkin and a really pretty leaf card.
The cream card is the cutting file.  Then, for my cards, I created an internal offset of the leaf and pumpkin and cut them out of solid colored paper.
For the pattern paper behind the ornate cutout, I adhered pretty 6x6 pattern paper from the fall paper line that Lori designed for Echo Park, called Celebrate Autumn.

The "thankful" sticker above is from the Celebrate Autumn sticker sheet, and the "Grateful for You" on the leaf card is from an older fall collection called "A Perfect Autumn".

Here are those goodies that I mentioned earlier ...

I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!  Your next stop is Kathy's wonderful blog!

Halloween House Mini Album

Happy Friday friends! I'm so excited to be sharing a new album with you today! A few years ago, I created two similar Halloween house albums for Doodlebug and my Artsy Albums kit shop, and I've been looking forward to doing another one this year. The new Pumpkin Party collection, combined with some dot & stripe patterns, make this a super fun project!
The album is made from black chipboard and handcut to create the house shapes. How cute are all of those little costume kids!?!
I used a combination of 6x6 and 12x12 pattern papers, lots of cute stickers and a few pieces from the chit chat and odds and ends.

I love these little acetate fences!  They are in the odds and ends package and I adhered them to the page with tiny clear glue dots.

I used lots of glitter sprinkles through the album. I love the colorful sparkle across the banners at the top of the album!

If you are you interested in making this album, it is available as a DIY kit in my Etsy shop.  You can get all the details here:
