Christmas Memories Waterfall Mini Album

Hi friends! What do you do when two Design Team Projects (Doodlebug Design and Lori Whitlock) fall on the same day? You use products from both amazing companies to make one super fun project! Today, I have a new Christmas mini album to share with you. I've added a quick tutorial to show how easy it is to make. This mini has a pretty shape, waterfall pages, and lots of Christmas cuteness! I designed this with a wonderful Lori Whitlock cutting file called Tiered Album Bracket and Doodlebug's adorable Gingerbread Kisses Collection (product links below). The shape of the pages is unique and I love that they're tiered so you can see all the festive prints and cute embellishments peeking out. 

Here's how I got started ...

The cutting file gives you the shapes of 5 base pages, which I cut out of white card stock. It also gives you the shape for the inset pages, which I cut out of 12x12 and 6x6 pattern papers. 

You will need to cut 2 inset pages in each size. These will cover the front and the back of each of the white base pages. Important tip ... when cutting these out, be sure to place the PATTERN in the right direction on the cutting mat so they will be cut facing the way that you want them to.

Adhere each patterned inset piece to the white base page with your tape runner. These are perfectly sized to allow for a 1/8" border around the edge. I love the way that looks. And now ... time for the decorating!

For the cover (top page), I added the Christmas Memories sticker which made the perfect little title for my album. If you look closely, I added 2 candy cane sprinkles and a tiny gem to it. So cute!

Inside, I added a 2x3 envelope that's great for a little note or photo. On the envelope's flap, I adhered half of a 3" scallop circle that I punched from the red plaid, then added the gingerbread sticker as a finishing touch.

I used a 1/2" circle of velcro to keep the envelope secure and inside, I added a little card covered in sprinkle paper. In addition to photos and notes, you could also add tickets, a Christmas list, or a business card.

This "sweet" 6x6 Sugarplums print is one of my favorites. So many tiny colorful treats! I also added a photo mat, a clip board for journaling, a gingerbread die cut, and 2 enamel stickers.

This pink page is a good example of what I meant about cutting the paper in the correct direction. Since I wanted my pink hearts to be right side up, I flipped my cutting file design in the software to "flip vertically".  You could also just place your paper upside down on your mat :)

The two die cuts above are so cute and remind me of an old fashion candy store. So, for even MORE cuteness ... I added some Peppermint Place enamel sprinkles to the jar. Love, love, love!

Here's a great page for photos of an afternoon of baking with the littles or grandlittles. Or ... pictures from a fun holiday cookie swap party! Check out the cookie tray - I added a few more shape sprinkles to it.

Of course all of my minis must have a pocket, so ... I made one with a 3x4 inch card and tucked 4 little tags inside. These could be used for Christmas lists, small photos, or journaling. And yep, I added a few sprinkles to those, too. ... Here a sprinkle, there a sprinkle, everywhere a sprinkle sprinkle!

All of these pages would be great filled with your holiday memories. Add photos of decorating your Christmas tree, sitting on Santa's lap, making a gingerbread house, a church event, a school program, a party, family gatherings, fun with friends, opening presents, and Christmas morning!

12x12 Lake Life Layout Instructions

First up is my new mini album titled Wild and Strong. It's a different theme and I'm excited to share it. It's perfect for the rugged, outdoorsy men and boys (& women!) in our lives that love trucks, hunting, and nature.

It's designed with a 6.5" x 6.5" chipboard album and PhotoPlay's, Mud On The Tires Collection. It has deer, pine trees, trucks, antlers, fish, ducks, fishing poles, lures, plaid, camo prints, and earthy colors.

The album has 12 pages that include 3 fold-out pages, an awesome waterfall feature (see below), 6 flippies, 1 pocket, a kraft envelope, and space for 35 photos. That's a lot of interactive fun for 1 little album!

I do love a good waterfall element. They're great for adding lots of extra photo space to one page and it shows off all the different papers in a collection. In this case, it's all about nature inspired textures.

This mini would be perfect filled with photos of hunting, fishing, trucks, off-roading, country music, campfires, ax throwing, and a wonderful mountain getaway.

The pocket is a great spot for saving tickets to a monster truck show, a concert or country music festival, a National Park, an ATV adventure, or zip lining through the trees. You can also use it for extra photos or journaling cards.

This scrapbook makes a wonderful keepsake for outdoor memories or ... an amazing gift idea for the holidays! Think husband, dad, grandpa, son, friend, nephew, uncle, cousin, or co-worker!

These 12x12 pages were designed with the adorable Bella Blvd, Lake Life Collection. My 6x8 album, also titled Lake Life was so popular that I thought my 12x12 scrappers might enjoy some pages for their albums. 

This kit has the supplies to make EIGHT lake themed scrapbook pages that include 2 flippies, lots of cute colors, space for 33 photos, and ... they're so much FUN to put together!!

They have cute images of cabins, canoes, trees, fish, frogs, boats, forest animals, and lots of sunshine.

These layouts would be perfect for photos of hiking, amazing views, a waterfall, streams, changing foliage, wildlife, and ... photos of your hiking partner.

What about an afternoon of fishing with friends or a fishing tournament?! Be sure to get photos of the boat, the weather, a favorite lure, and your prized catch of the day. 

You can add pictures of your cabin, your campsite, a sunrise or sunset, the evening stars, catching fireflies, or sitting around a fire roasting marshmallows with family and friends. 

If you visit the lake often, I'm sure you have lots of fun memories on the water. Do you have a boat, love tubing, riding jet skiis, or going swimming just off the sandbar?

No boat, no worries! Maybe your family loves hanging out in the backyard, playing games, swimming, or hunting for tadpoles. Speaking of tadpoles ... check out the cute frogs on the page above. Love them!

There are so many fun memories to be had when you're away from your phone, computer, or TV. I get it - sometimes it's hard to disconnect. But, when we do ... and we hear the birds singing, breathe in the fresh outdoor air, and connect with nature - I think we're all a little better for it.

Farmer's Market Shaped Mini Album

Hello my friends! Time for my latest Doodlebug Design Team project and this one was perfect for me. Designers were asked to decorate the fun new Home Sweet Home, House Shaped Mini Album! We could use any collection so I chose the Farmer's Market since it has a colorful fall theme. Perfect for the season.

The 5"x7" chipboard album is a blank canvas and features two covers, a roof top piece, four dividers, and four pages - giving you 16 pages in total. It comes with 2 silver binding rings but for a little extra color, I swapped them out with red ones I had in my stash.

I covered the front with 12x12 papers called Farm Fresh, Fall Berries, and Farmer's Market. Then for a little more detail, I framed out the windows with the red Market Preserves print. I measured the windows and cut out the shapes using my Silhouette machine.

Next, I added 2 scallop border stickers and the Farmers Market sign from the This & That sticker sheet. The flag banner is a die cut from the Chit Chat and I added some bon bon glitter enamel dots to it. In the windows, I used lots of mini icon stickers. The scale of these was perfect for my little storefront look. I just love it.

Inside, I covered each page in a different 12x12 print and added photo mats and more fun embellies. I chose a cute brown bag and veggie die cuts from the Odds & Ends on this layout.

Here, I used a journaling card from the 12x12 Fall Floral print. I love the pretty purple color & all the flowers.

Since mini albums have smaller pages, I always try to add extra photo space with pockets and flippies. Here, I did both! With a card from the Veggie Sticks print, I created a flippie with room for two pictures. Behind it, I made a pocket and included some cute tags. You can journal on these or use the pocket for photos.

The colors in this Farmer's Market Collection are so bright and cheerful. And there are so many cute fall images of leaves, vegetables, flowers, animals, bees, a vegetable stand, market signs, a bike, and baskets.

This chipboard album is great for photos of autumn, a farmer's market, or Thanksgiving. But, change out the paper collection and you can redesign it with a different theme for family, Christmas, Halloween, or anything!

Thank You Pop Up Card - November Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock

Hello everyone! Today is Lori Whitlock's November Blog Hop and my blog is the first stop on the hop. But be sure to visit Lori's site too because she has a sale and more great products for you!

For my project today, I made a beautiful 5x7 inch thank you card that's filled with lots of pretty flowers. It's perfect for the holiday season when everyone is visiting others and receiving gifts. You can change up the colors and papers to reflect the season or leave it wonderfully generic, like I did! 

I used one of Lori's awesome cutting files called 5x7 Thank You Pop Up Card and her new Echo Park, A Year in Review Collection. I chose 12x12 and 6x6 papers, and lots of colorful enamel dots (link below). Check out the inside ...

It's so pretty and such a cute surprise! I love the flower print titled October. It really makes a statement next to those cute little pop-up blocks. I used the smaller 6x6 prints on those.
