A Layout with Carta Bella Happy Haunting

Oh my goodness -- tomorrow is Halloween!  Can you believe it?  This year has just flown by for me.  It seems like January was just here and my son got engaged.  We thought we had such a long time to plan a November wedding, but here it is Halloween already!

With wedding plans, new kit releases, design team projects, and regular fun family stuff, I've had to be really organized lately!  So when it was my turn to do a project for Frosted Designs, I thought I would go ahead and create my family's Halloween page for 2013.

As I mentioned over on the Frosted Designs blog, I have a Halloween album that I set out as part of my fall decorations each year.  The album starts when my boys were babies, and goes through each page showing off their costume for every year.  Now that they are 22 and 19, they don't dress up anymore (so sad....), but I still do a page each year dedicated to our family festivities like pumpkin carving, handing out candy, etc.  So thanks to Frosted Designs and Carta Bella, my 2013 page is done -- whoo hoo!!

You can find the Happy Haunting collection kit by Carta Bella in the Frosted Designs shop.

You probably already know I'm a huge Silhouette fan and use it for just about everything -- so I cut out some really awesome shapes for this layout -- you can find the shapes here:
Halloween 2009 (you can delete the 2009 and change it to 2013 like I did) Halloween Witch Flying Broom
Isn't she fun?  Once I have my pictures I will just slide them in behind her.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today friends!  Please visit my friends at Frosted Designs to purchase the Carta Bella Happy Haunting collection!!

Scrapbook Page Layout Kit, Bella Blvd Trick or Treat

Someone asked me the other day why, as a scrapbooker, they would want to purchase a kit.  Here is what I told her:
  1. Flexibilty:  Creating with a scrapbook kit is much like cooking with a recipe -- you have the ingredients and the instructions, but you can change it up to suit your taste.
  2. Time Savings:  All of the supplies you need (except for tools and adhesive) are in one simple package!  Do you have young children, a hectic career, or other commitments?  Kits help you stay caught up on all of your scrapbooks!
  3. Easy All Artsy Albums kits are pre-cut and packaged by page.  Everything is easy to find and fun to assemble!
  4. Perfect for Packing:  Artsy Albums kits are easy to pack!  Going to a crop? Scrapbook retreat? Vacation?  Pack a few tools, some adhesive, and your kits!  You'll be creating on the go in no time!
Here's our latest 12x12 Page Layout kit for Halloween.  I just love these cute papers and embellishments by Bella Blvd called Trick or Treat:

It's hard to believe that Halloween is just two weeks from today!  Where did 2013 go?  It's amazing how time will just fly by when you're not looking.  Well, don't worry, I have an easy way for you to check one Halloween task off of your to-do list.  Be ready to save all of your fun trick-or-treating, and cute costume pictures with an easy, pre-cut mini album kit from Artsy Albums!  Our kits are fun to put together, with easy, full color instructions and make a great time-saver this time of year when things get busy!

We have two different Halloween mini album kits available this month.  The first one, using papers from Carta Bella's Happy Haunting collection was just added in the shop yesterday.

The circle on the cover is cut out to reveal this spooky owl with glowing eyes!
The "Enter at your own Risk" piece is a tri-fold card that opens up for add'l photo space.
Each kits comes with this awesome spider web die-cut and pre-cut papers to make putting this mini together a snap!
And there's a pocket page to hold extra photos, tickets from the haunted house, a costume party guest list, or other journaling notes.

You may have already seen photos of our second Halloween kit in earlier posts.  It's a bit more whimsical and fun than the kit above.  The colors are a bit brighter and the owls eyes don't glow, but they sure are cute!

A New Frosted Designs Challenge

Happy Friday friends!

There's a new challenge up over at Frosted Designs -- create a project using kraft paper, chipboard, and flair!  How fun!

Here's my take on the challenge -- I just love the vintage feel of Prima's Delight collection.  I created a 6x6 mini album with kraft paper, and used chipboard and flair from the collection.  All of this wonderful Prima product is available in the Frosted Designs store.  Hope you'll join us for this creative challenge!

For my project, I'm sharing a few of Lori's adorable Halloween designs.  I created a fun Halloween party invitation and a witch's boot treat box.

I just LOVE these adorable witch's boots with the striped legs -- so cute! I also added some twine and Lori's cute Halloween font to the front of the invitation.  For the boot treat bag, I turned the green scallop borders out so that I could lace the boots up with Doodlebug twine....love it :)  A few orange Doodlebug dots were added for a finishing touch.

Bella Blvd Trick or Treat Mini Album

Hello everyone! Pumpkin picking, costume wearing, cuteness! That's what I saw when Bella Blvd's new Trick or Treat collection was introduced at CHA this summer. I love the traditional Halloween colors of orange, black, and purple but ... then they added a touch of blue for an extra pop of color. I love it and those fun little owls! :)

Silhouette Tutorial Using Photos

Hi Artsy Albums friends!

I'm sharing a really fun Silhouette tutorial over on Lori Whitlock's blog today.  I usually don't think about cutting photos in my silhouette software, but I recently wanted to add a banner to a page layout and I wanted the pieces to match my pictures.  This is also a great idea if you want to add a title that matches your photos.  Head over to my post on Lori's website for directions on this technique.

Please follow this link to read a post that really means a lot to me:
