Hello friends! Did you know June 27th is International Pineapple Day? Me neither, but ... it did give me a little inspiration for a new project (and you know I'll use ANY excuse to make a cute shaped mini album)! This day honors the sweet tropical fruit that is also a worldwide symbol of hospitality. So with that in mind, take a look at my little pineapple shaped scrapbook titled Welcome.
To create the album's fun shape, I used a Doodlebug Design cutting file called Pineapple and made an accordion style scrapbook. Then, I decorated the pages with the Fun in the Sun Collection and some Bella Blvd Besties prints (links below).
On the front cover, I added the cute yellow Besties print called Hearts and Ombre in the color bell pepper. I embellished with lots of flowers from the Odds & Ends and Icon Stickers, then added the "Welcome" title. It's a Chit Chat die cut from Doodlebug's Hello Collection.

Inside, I added colorful pattern papers to each of the white cardstock pages then created the cute shaped photo mats. For those, I used a 3" scalloped circle punch and a 2.5" circle punch from Marvy Uchida and a mix of fun 6x6 and 12x12 papers.
Now for some ideas on how you can use this album. First, I think it would make a great gift idea for new neighbors. What a unique way to welcome them to the
neighborhood! They could add pictures of the move and of their new home.
You
could use this in a vacation rental to welcome your guests. Fill it
with local information they might find useful like great shopping,
restaurants, and fun activities. Or use it as a guest book where they
can leave positive comments or signatures for others to read.
Another idea ... add photos
from a tropical themed birthday party, anniversary, bridal or baby
shower, or ... a Hawaiian luau! Oooo, I love that idea!
Swap out the "Welcome" title for something else and
you could save your summer photos here. It would be great for a weekend
getaway, pictures by the pool, or beach side
with a Pina Colada!
Tropical or Hawaiian
themed nursery? Adorable! Fill this little album with sweet baby
pictures. But, maybe leave out the cocktail die cuts, lol!
What a fun summer project! I hope this mini album inspires you to create something unique with a pineapple theme.๐Below are the links for the products used, but ... I think any tropical, sunny, summertime collection would work great. Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a wonderful day! ๐

DeleteSo cute! Do you have tutorials available to show how to make an accordian album. I’m sure it’s probably simple but for newbies all of this can be overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration.
Hi Judy! I don’t, but I could try to make one :). I did this with my Silhouette cutting machine. Do you have a cutting machine?
DeleteCan’t find the paper anywhere ๐
ReplyDeleteCheck out Starlit Studios! She may not have the exact papers, but Doidlebug’s Sweet Summer collection is very close :)
